My personal alltime favorite would be difficut to pinpoint, but Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s Narcisso Rodriguez sheath is a contender for the first spot.
Timeless elegance, is what this dress screams at me. Not sure about the gloves. They somehow seem a bit much, whereas the rest of her simple outfit is so classy!
Carolyn and John were married in a secret ceremony on a tiny island of the Georgia coast. Only forty people were invited, mostly family. I like that as well, very chic, not having 700 of your ‘closest friends’ lugging around on a day that’s supposed to be about you.
Don’t be fooled by the simpleness of the dress: it still set Carolyn back 40.000 dollars. She wore a clip that belonged to Jackie Kennedy in her hair and a lily of the valley bouquet.
Of course, no one can look at these pictures without thinking about the awful way things ended for Carolyn and John, amid all kinds of horrible rumours about drug abuse, their private plane crashed into the ocean, killing the couple and Carolyn’s sister. Another tragedy for the Kennedy family. But like James Dean they will always stay young and gorgeous and, unlike so many other celebrity couples, forever married.
